Megan Gunning Paterson is the host of Fresh! and the Open Spaces & Historic Places series. Megan a fulltime on camera spokesperson and television personality who has worked for various networks including Discovery Communications, Viacom, News Corporation, Tribune, NBC, Fox, Turner Broadcasting and CBS.
As the host of Fresh!, a series of half-hour shows on agriculture in New Jersey that was broadcast on NJN and is currently broadcast on public television, FoodyTV and online, Megan visited various farms and farmers markets throughout the Garden State and assisted local chefs to create New Jersey grown farm fresh meals.
This role was a perfect fit for Megan as she had participated in the WWOOF Program in the US and Ireland, completed the New Jersey Agriculture Society’s Leadership Development Program (a two and a half-year enrichment program for New Jersey’s future agribusiness leaders), and is an advocate of sustainable agriculture and the farmtotable movement. She loves the outdoors, is an avid hiker and, on top of all this, a mother and wife.
She is a graduate of University of Vermont’s Institute of Artisan Cheese and studied Dairy Foods through Cornell’s Extension Program. As a certified artisan cheesemaker, she worked in the creamery at Double Brook Farm in Hopewell, NJ, before becoming the Resource Development Manager at The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey (NOFANJ).
Megan hosted the two GNJP Open Spaces & Historic Places shows – one on Morris County and one on Monmouth County. Both currently are broadcast on public television and online. She will be the host and our intrepid guide for our new show in development on the Appalachian Trail in New Jersey and New York.
