THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL

New Jersey/New York

GNJP’s newest show will take the viewer on a journey along the Appalachian Trail in New Jersey and New York, meeting hikers, volunteers and stewards. Our journey will take us from the large-scale grandness of the trail to the up close and personal perspective of the thru hiker and day tripper.

Our guide Megan Gunning Patterson will explore glacial lakes and waterfalls, climb mountains, tramp along footbridges and trails, and examine human-made environments such as forest plantations, trails and structures created by the Civilian Conservation Corps under President Franklin Roosevelt.

The show is currently in the development stage: fundraising, research, advance work and story & script creation. Filming is planned for May through November 2018 with a completed show for TV for spring of 2019.

In Jersey Blues, host Megan Gunning Patterson takes a look at the tasty blueberry.  The Garden State ranks fifth in the nation in blueberry production. Chock full of antioxidants, blueberries are healthy and nutritious – but they are also outrageously delicious.

This show includes a visit to a Art & Carol Brown’s B&B blueberry farm, Rutgers Marucci Research Center, Plagido’s Winery where blueberry wine is produced, Historic Whitesbog Village where the blueberry was first cultivated, and ends at Penza’s Pies at the Red Barn where the most divine blueberry pies are baked.

To complete this show for June 2018 broadcast, GNJP needs to raise an additional $5,000. The show is filmed and in the final stages of editing. The additional funding will cover editing, closed captioning,  distribution, packaging and promotion.

The show will be broadcast on FoodyTV, online on our website and offered to public television. Become a sponsor and get your name listed in the credits reaching over 50,000 viewers in a half-hour.
